Which Season Is The Best For Remodeling?

The season that seems to be the best time to remodel is the spring. Winter in most places in the United States is too cold and summer is too hot. During a major remodel, the electricity and the plumbing may need to be turned off and if the homeowner decides to stay in his or her house during a winter or summer he or she is apt to be quite uncomfortable. Extremes of temperature are also not good for the contractor. Not only does very cold or very hot weather stress the workers, but hot and cold temperatures can affect the quality of paint, siding, wood flooring, concrete and other components of a home.

If the homeowner decides not to stay in his or her home during the remodel, chances are rooms in the motels or hotels in the area might be plentiful and can be had for reasonable rates. Neither the summer vacation crowd nor the winter holiday crowd are around.

Another advantage of spring is that it’s after tax season and the homeowner can use his or her tax refund to help pay for the remodel.

The second best season to have a remodel is the early fall. Temperatures are perfect for both workers and their materials.
